What Men Don’t Know About Men

What does it mean to become a man?
In some cultures, there are intense initiation rituals transitioning boys into men. These rituals include the slaughtering of animals and spreading the intestines all over the boy, others involve intense public circumcision ceremonies, and in one tribe in Brazil the boy must stick his hand in a glove woven with bullet ants and withstand the stings for 10 minutes.
But how do the boys in our society know how and when to grow into the maturity of man?
Matt Auron joined me on and revealed what it means to be and become a man today. Our conversation explores the development of the various strengths and leadership capacities that lead to maturity as a man.
We talk about how women can better understand the process men are in as they mature and how it intersects with men coming into their own power. We also touch upon emotional intelligence, connection, and men’s work and men’s groups.
As a woman who coaches a lot of men at midlife, these concepts have dramatically changed how I work with men.
Whether you are a male leader or work with one, this episode will give you a roadmap and deep insight into the mindset of male leaders throughout different stages of their career, allowing greater openings for cultural growth and improved communication between all genders.
I know men and women will both get a lot out of this episode.
